BE READY FOR AN ALL-NIGHTER: Fifth Code's UP ALL NIGHT

"A True Fashionista ALWAYS comes prepared. Ready to conquer the day. Poised to seize the night."

That is one thing I learned about dressing up and looking your best. The best outfits are not the ones with the most expensive price tags. It's the ones that can take you from day 'til night. If you still can't make up your mind on what to wear that would do just that, why not throw on a pair of cool blazers?!

Today, wearing a blazer isn't just for formal events or the prom. It's all about the pair's design. Without a doubt, wearing one would save you from the hassle of worrying what to wear when someone unexpectedly invites you to a night out in the city.

With all that being said, FIFTH CODE comes in.

It is a brainchild of Lorenz Namalata. His ill-feelings towards the hassle of finding the perfect pair of suit lead him to what is now called, Fifth Code.

Launched in October 2010, the brand made a name for itself by breathing life into boring black blazers we see in the malls. They infused current trends and experimented with different styles that would surely make heads turn.

The demand for the brand's unique pieces grew higher as it was constantly featured in the Philippine's top fashion magazines.

Now on it's 6th Collection, UP ALL NIGHT, offers fashionistas a bolder set of pieces that you can wear anytime. Along with it's launch, Fifth Code also launched their Women's Wear line, MUSE.

PAIN IN THE BASS - - Bring out the Chuck Bass in you with this burgundy blazer.

GOLD! You're Indestructible. - - Look like a million bucks with this Gold  Sequinned Blazer.

THE GOOD BOY - - Easily transform a plain outfit into an interesting one with this pair.

LILY IN THE VALLEY - - Pink Blazer with Lace Details. This piece is sure to bring out a bit of sexiness in such a fine innocent lady.

*crosses fingers* Here's to hoping for a launch here in Davao!

Now, I'm looking forward to my FIRST Fifth Code pair. Get your's NOW!

BOSQUEJO: A Handcrafted Creations of a GENIUS

I stumbled upon a picture of a VERY fashionable lad in Facebook and automatically clicked it and browsed some of his photos. When I found out that he has a LOOKBOOK account, it was a no-brainer, I had to see all of his looks! The guy I am referring to is no other than, Miguel Paolo Celestial. A 30 year old blogger, writer, designer from Manila, who DOES NOT LOOK LIKE HIS AGE!

When I was browsing through his LOOKS on his LookBook, my attention was caught by the adornment around his neck.

Little did I know, Miguel Paolo Celestial was the one who painstakingly handcrafted this gem of a neck piece!

BOSQUEJO, as it is named, is his brainchild. “Bosquejo” is the Spanish word for Sketch, Outline, Draft. The name was initially used for his mens wear blog El Bosquejo, which served as his online diary, which features his daily looks and everything about Men’s Fashion.

Miguel, being the man of art that he is, made accessories all for himself, using materials that usually wouldn’t be worn as an accessory. Take stuff from the hardware for example. Through his blog and LookBook account, the public seemed to grow fond over his accessories. This convinced Miguel to produce his one-of-a-kind masterpieces commercially.

His pieces, through time and word-of-mouth, became ubiquitous. Appearing in several fashion blogs and publications.

Bosquejo even caught Rajo Laurel’s liking, allowing several pieces to be sold alongside his creations.

I am such a big fan of his SACRE Collection, it was an homage to the “gods” that we believe in. He created it in a way that the pieces wouldn’t look “churchy” or something ONLY a Priest and a Nun would wear. here are some of his collection off SACRE:

A peek on his HARDWARE Collection:

This one, I have to say, is my favorite! So spunky and edgy. And I love how brilliant he mixes and matches unconventional materials.

One of his collection that I love is his DJINN Collection:

Steel Bard, this is my favorite from this collection. I love how he mixed the earthy feel into the edgy look of this necklace.

Well, It's quite obvious what my favorites are! haha

I CAN’T WAIT to have my first Bosquejo!

Web-Frenzy: SOLESTRUCK

Being addicted to shoes, I can't count how many freakin' hours I spend in front of my laptop or my smartphone, looking for my NEXT PERFECT PAIR.

I am such a fan of online shopping. I usually buy my shoes online and have them shipped directly here in the Philippines or in my grandmother's US address. Buying shoes online has a LOT of pros. One is that, you can be sure of it's authenticity and quality.

Well, I happened to stumble upon this AMAZING online shopping website which carries an ample of footwear line. From Adidas Originals to Cheap Monday to Gram to Topman. The site is SOLESTRUCK.

The name itself gives me chills!! haha.. I always get it when I hear about or stumble upon an online shoe shopping haven.

And when I say SHOE SHOPPING HAVEN, I mean every word!

They have a vast selection of footwear from Men's to Women's.

I love how unique the shoes the carry are. These are some of the pairs I'd LOVE to have.

I love how sturdy it looks and the red sole gives it an even edgier look. LOVE!

I am obsessed with Aztec prints and Shoes! What gets better than combining the two?! LOVE

ONE WORD: Scene Stealer! I love how it looks like a Creeper but isn't too high.  LOVE LOVE LOVE

Now this one, how do I even start.. I just love everything about this pair. SADLY, it is out of stock! Well, as they say, GREAT THINGS NEVER LAST LONG. haha. I just love how the Green and the Black mixed in contrast. It makes your pair stand-out.

SOLESTRUCK also has a gargantuan collection of Women's shoes. I LOVE Women's shoes. I love how sexy they look. Lets admit it, Women's shoes are just so damn interesting!

How can you NOT love SOLESTRUCK?! They carry our OWN! Philippine Pride, GOLD DOT. I'll talk about GOLD DOT on my next post. For the meantime, these are SOLESTRUCK Exclusive Gold Dot pairs. I'm totally in love with the 3rd pair. It's SEXY, UNIQUE, and INTERESTING. Gold Dot never fails to amaze me!

GOLD DOT is the brand behind some of Philippine's Top Celebrities' footwear. Don't you just LOVE Ms. Anne Curtis-Smith's thigh-high boots?! LOVES IT.

Organizing The Clutter: Best Ways To Organize Shoes

I'm the biggest NEAT FREAK you'll ever meet, but I would say that I love things - - ORGANIZED. And on the top of my list of things that SHOULD be organized are, of course, my shoes.

Upon entering my room, you'll see this:

these are just some of my shoes. Some pairs I placed in another room.

I basically mounted a cabinet on my wall. What it does is that, It keeps your shoes away from too much dirt. When you place your shoes on the floor and let it stay there, chances are, dirt will pile up and eventually discolor your footwear.

See these boxes?

These boxes were made by someone my mom knows. Individually putting your shoes in boxes will protect your shoes from acquiring the color of the other shoes, because some shoes tend to do that. And it also keeps your shoes clean and dust-free.

Have you ever had trouble finding the pair you would wear with your outfit? Well, a good way to address that problem is to LABEL your shoe boxes. Just like what I did. Sticking a photo outside the box of the pair inside is also a great way to organize. It will also help you save time from scavenging that perfect pair for your outfit.

Also remember to KEEP the shoe boxes and it would be great if you buy shoe pouches.

Now, some shoe boxes are big enough to fit two pairs, UTILIZE it! Just like what I did. Inside the Lacoste boxes are two pairs of shoes, SEPARATE IT BY USING ZIPLOCS, to prevent the pairs from acquiring each other's colors.

Out On A Hunt.. PERFECT STUDDED SHOES.

I have long been obsessed with high-cut studded sneakers! What started this obsession was Christian Louboutin's Studded Louis Hightops.

Owning one, is still a far cry now, but I know time will come i'll own a pair of Loubies. LOL

I was looking for studded shoes for the LONGEST time. I considered having one custom-made, but was hesitant of how the finished product would fit me. and also, I considered DIY-ing one, but figured that looking for metal studs is stressful and EXPENSIVE!

Until I saw this one....

A Hightop PUNKROSE studded sneakers by Skechers.. I just loved how it looks! It wasn't as elaborate as Louboutin, but it was a stand-out on it's own right. It's simple yet spunky. And what I really loved about this pair is that the studs they used weren't metal studs, it was actually made out of plastic, which means that the studs used will NEVER rust.

This is how it looks like when worn :)

In The Beginning...

Every great story begins with "Once Upon A Time.." or "In A Galaxy Far Far Away..", but mine is a bit different from that..

"ONCE UPON A SHOE", I think is a great fit. Lol.

Well, whatever! I'll just say it as it is.

My addiction to shoes started back when I was still "UNDER CONSTRUCTION".. My dad is addicted to shoes and my mom is such a sucker for designer bags. Long story short, I got my addiction from my dad and my sister got hers from my mom.

I have always loved shoes, but it was only in College that I actually started collecting. Mom bought me a pair of white Lacoste shoes. THAT wonderful event in my life lit up the dormant addiction I have for shoes. After buying that pair, I couldn't stop nor control myself from buying shoes with my own money or my parents'. Every chance I get, I make sure I buy a new pair.

For me, it's not about the fad. It's about the QUALITY of the footwear and it's LONGEVITY fashion-wise.

"Will this look good when I wear it 2 years from now?", "Will this go well with most of my clothes?", "Will I find a cheaper alternative to this?" - These are some of the questions I always ask myself before making a purchase. But there are times that I don't even bother asking myself these questions, because I love the pair too much to even bother. LOL.

Later, I'll post my shoe collection.
