High-Fashion Sportswear: Athletenique by Rajo Laurel S/S 2012

When we talk about sportswear, the brands that first come to mind are of course, NIKE and ADIDAS. Well, it's about time we put that kind of mindset all in the past. Because sportswear isn't just about a sweaty pair of jockeys and smelly gym shorts anymore. And Rajo Laurel proves just that!


Rajo Laurel's newest collection for his namesake label, House Of Laurel, offers athletic inspired pieces which promises buyers no movement restrictions and look their best while running errands. Named, "Athletenique S/S 2011", the collection fused the elegance of high fashion and the comfort of active-wear.


First up, Rajo Laurel's ATHELETENIQUE S/S 2012 for RAJO!

I love how one can move freely while looking great wearing this pair. This is by far, the most beautiful active-wear I have ever laid my eyes on.

Picture Blair Waldorf running errands and in a hurry! She'll probably be looking like this.

Look good in the middle of a rush hour with these pieces. Rush to your meetings looking fierce as ever.

These pieces can actually be good fit in an episode of Gossip Girl. 

It's a long way to the top. Look good climbing the professional ladder wearing these pieces. They are to-WORK-for!

The second dress reminded me of Ms. Anne Curtis and Ms. Divine Lee in a closely similar dress, still by Rajo.

Let me just say this before i proceed, I have never seen a collection that excited me as much as this one did!

What I loved about this collection is the brilliant way of showcasing femininity without veering away from the active-wear feel to it. The choice of patterns and fabrics were to be given props.

It's easy to say that this collection aims to provide working women the comfort they need without looking too casual.

I love how tailored the shorts look, but at the same time, it looks comfortable and the fabric looks soft.

I love the male model's blazer. The subtlety and the warm of dark blue combined with the vivacious energy of yellow is a match made in heaven. The blazer is simply my favorite piece in this collection.

I love these jackets! Casual with a little dose of high fashion.

Chuck Bass would be proud. 

This collection, to me, focuses on comfortable pieces to wear in your workplace or practically just about anywhere. Kudos to Mr. Rajo Laurel for the brilliant choice of fabrics to work with and the fusion of fashion and comfort.
